Mini Review
Pro: Great use of premise with the animation, enjoyable to watch the whole way through, cast of characters.
Con: Story takes some unneeded detours, May need more work in order to sink in.
Final Thoughts: Patema Inverted is the type of anime movie that is completely dependent on the person watching. For some it might seem a little too short and generic while others will be fascinated by the inspired animation and premise alone to fall in love with the movie. For me personally I am in that second boat and seriously think that more people need to see this film. There is no point in trying to compare any anime film to studio ghibli's work and you will not see me try here. It was not trying to compete for any awards. Its a great short little sci-fi romance that is well deserving addition on any anime collector's shelf. Its not anything groundbreaking or particularly spectacular, but its the right amount of entertainment you need.
