Pro: Great Animation, Soundtrack, Tons of fun!

Con: Some Characters could use some improvement, ONLY 10 FRICKEN EPISODES!

Final Thoughts: Blood Lad is a perfect example of a fun anime that does not take itself too seriously. There are no complicated things to try to understand just pure fun. The animation is superb and the soundtrack is fitting. However some characters (Fuyumi) deserve better development than they are given and some moments may feel a bit rushed or too glossed over story-wise. Nevertheless this an anime/manga that is not as well known as it should be. Something like this does not try to be what it's not. It knows it's limits and takes you on a safe enjoyable roller coaster.

Story: Looking at this from an anime and manga point of view it is again fun! Something like this is hard to point out so I'll stick to what I found. The comedy is very dark and consists of a lot of popular culture references, but the majority of the time they hit giant bulls-eyes. The action is entertaining and the powers that the three vampire siblings have are well put together and creative. A lot of stuff happens in each episode and they never add too much filler. The ending is not good, but at least it establishes some development and changes through our main characters. Overall it deserves a star.

Characters: Blood Lad has many characters that will make you squel in delight after every sentence they form and others (Fuyumi) will having wanting to look off screen. It is very sad that she (Fuyumi) does not get develop she deserves, but I suppose in a world of demons with magical powers being a human would make her a little bland. Staz goes through a well put together change at the end of the series. He really almost starts off as a bit of an antihero due to his unconscious selfishness. By the end he realizes this fault and decides to fight it. The rest of the cast is pretty good and you really want to see more of them by the time it is over. However, Fuyumi is too big of character to ignore so no star for this one.

Art: It's great, next! No no, but seriously its good. It's fast paced and glossy. One thing I particularly liked was the episode name wording (you'll see what I mean). The style is very reminiscent of Soul Eater, but still stands out on its own. The neon and black color pallet is very stylish and enjoyable. (at least for me). A star for this one. Sound: The opening theme "Vivid" is unbelievably good (catchy) and yeah the rest of the music has no big faults either. A star for this. Final Score: 4 stars Recommendations:

Yu Yu Hakusho/Blue Exorcist/Noragami
